Community Green Place

Community Green Place is the online newsletter for community groups with an interest or an involvement in parks and green space. The newsletter is FREE and packed with information about funding, useful contacts, policy updates and reports, as well as the latest news from the team at GreenSpace. It's the ideal way to stay up-to-date with the ever-changing and developing world of parks and green space.

Community Green Place is one of the services provided by the Community Networking Project Team. This project unites for the first time all those community-based organisations across the country who have an active interest in parks and green space. It promotes networking between groups, provides a base to disseminate examples of good practice drawn from around the country and acts as a support system to help raise your capacity.

As part of this networking, we are currently developing a National Register of contact details of these groups. This will allow you to search for other groups in your town or region, as there is a great deal of value in sharing experiences and solutions to problems or challenges.

The project team, Nick Ockenden and Sarah Moore, can be reached by phoning 0118 946 9060. Our website, GreenSpace Online ( also has a great deal of information in the `community section', including links to over 1,000 organisations, factsheets on how to start a group or run a project and research reports. If you would like to receive Community Green Place every two months, direct to your inbox, please email Past issues can be viewed at GreenSpace Online.
